Since ancient times human beings have shared the planet with plants, which have provided all the necessary resources to our survival on a daily basis: oxigen, food, medicinals, raw materials for house building, furniture, clothing. Plants have also provided us with their beauty, fragrances and colours.

Thousands of vegetal species worldwide have medicinal uses and they can be exploited both by herbalist and conventional medicine; they offer benefits that chemical drugs can't provide. They fight diseases directly and also help the body to recover from illness. A plant medical effect can be very selective and act on different body systems: respiration, blood circulation, nervous system. A precise cure can be determined and this knowledge has been  used on a daily basis for human survival for thousands years.

Plant therapeutic properties can be also used to integrate or supplement nutrient-poor diets. For thousands of years Aurveda has stated that  " medicine is food and the food is medicine".

Finally, medicinal trees are strong and long-living, they envelope and protect the soil, they purify the atmosphere: replenishing it with oxigen, while eliminating carbon oxides during photosynthesis. Trees can temper the effects of  the atmosphere  pollution and global warming by creating a layer of vegetation that protects the soil from the heat of the atmosphere itself.
