Herbal medicine has much to offer since the human body assimilates natural medicines far better than chemicals. Since the beginning of mankind we have been eating vegetables and therefore our bodies are already accustomed to be nourished by plants. Usually our body does not assimilate chemical medicines but rather converts them into toxins and this worsens our health instead of improving it.
Using the therapeutic properties of plants, to integrate our diet, helps replenishing our supply of minerals and vitamins, which are generally absent in nutrient-deprived diets - and yet are vital to our health. Hence herbal science is at its best when the distinction between food and medicine disappears.

The meaning of the term “Yoga” varies from context to context. Within the Ayurveda, traditional medical science of India it corresponds to appropriate employment and to the exact combination of the plants. Therefore product composed from substance, having the scope to produce specific effects on the body and the mind, may be called “yoga”.
The employment and preparation of the compound is made up of fine plants which have specific values according to the ancient Ayurveda science concerning the quality system and powers of the plants based on the laws of the nature, according to objective and specific use, with reference to any individual state. The challenge of our time consists in achieving a perfect integration between cultures and human awareness. It is essential that this process may come about also at the medical science level. Healing always implies a process of unification. If we are not able to integrate our knowledge during healing, how can we, as human beings, find union inside us and among ourselves?
Ayurveda also concerns the specific action of the plants on the mind and the deeper psychological and spiritual aspects which are part of the healing itself. The use of plants is part of a broader therapeutic context; if the most profound levels of human life are not taken into consideration, no healing process can really be effective.
In the eastern as well as in the western world, in the traditional holistic therapies, plants are always the primary medicinal factors. Originated by the intuition of the wise, herbal medicine has developed in the course of centuries of experiences. Thank to its so ancient origins , Ayurveda includes the most developed herbal medical science all over the world . ( SKA Ayurveda www.ska-ayu.org Italian Institute of Ayurvedic Massage).

The forgoten healers (healing virtues of the plants)
Ayurveda represents the dominant tradition. It is the most ancient healing system in the world. Today actively it is promoted from the government actively as well as a valid western conventional medicine. The name Ayurveda derives from two sanscrite words: AYU that means LIFE and VEDA that means SCIENCE. Therefore the Ayurvedic medicine is more than a simple healing system.
IT is a life model that comprises science, religion and philosophy, that support well being and longevity and that allows the realization of our own aspirations. It aims at realizing the union of physical, emotional , and spiritual health, called swasthya. This state of grace allows people to enter into harmonic relationship with the cosmic knowledge. Using plants for our health.
All plants existing on this planet , more than 10000, are regularly used for medicinal purposes. Great part of these herbs are studied deeply to understand their medicinal and domestic properties; like ginger, haridra, Amalaki, camomille etc, which are well known in traditional herbalist world.
Plants have been used since thousand of years for the treatments of various diseases ,such as inflammation, pain, colds etc; the bark, flowers, fruits and seeds are examined accurately to determine their medicinal property for the treatment of the disease.
